The Canneto olive tree grows in Fara Sabina, an Italian olive-growing region. This example has borne silent witness to two millennia of history in the region.

Ten synchronised sound channels recreate the auditory space as an analogue of its voice and invite us to explore the space, evoking both the passage of time and the hidden life of an unwritten story.

The microsounds recorded (branches swaying in the breeze, the creaking of the wood, the leaves drying in the heat of the sun, the echoing inside, etc.) are played by loudspeakers positioned within the space in the same position as they were recorded in.

The synchronicity of the loudspeakers recreates the three-dimensional sound in the hall, making the effect of the wind blowing through the leaves, the rain on the crown, the echoing inside, etc. perceptible. [+]
